CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF BROOME COUNTYResidential ServicesPeer Specialist – Level 3GRADE 7+  $18.00-$19.48/hr.                                                                     FLSA (Non-Exempt)I.         QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Experience High school diploma or GEDLived experience with Behavioral Health ServicesSkills Ability to advocate for self and othersAbility to communicate clearly, including active listeningKnowledge of recovery approachesThe ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 40 lbs. Ability to legally operate a vehicle in NY StateII.        RESPONSIBLE TO:            SupervisorIII.      MAJOR FUNCTIONS: Work toward completing NYS Certified Peer Specialist credentialProvide peer-to-peer supportShare common experiencesParticipate in care planningProvide transportationFacilitate community orientation/integrationActively participate in scheduled supervisionFacilitate support groupsAssist others in recovery based on individual need and cultural considerationsParticipate in all required training Represent the Agency and program in the community and with other service providersRegular and substantial contact with individuals receiving supportPerform other related tasks as directed by supervisorIn compliance with all applicable government laws, rules, regulations and standards and all Catholic Charities Policies and Procedures the duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the above.Catholic Charities of Broome County is an equal opportunity employer.
