There are an average of 15 patients per shift. Full-time coverage is needed from late June through October with a 1:3 4 call rotation when a provider is off. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., working alongside two physicians and three nurse practitioners in a community-based hematology/oncology setting that also offers radiation oncology services. The department manages the majority of hematology and oncology cases, provides on-site bone marrow biopsies, and cares for both ambulatory and hospitalized patients, with an infusion center featuring 18 chemotherapy chairs and two non-chemotherapy infusion chairs.
