DRE roof systems
The Roof Systems Design Release Engineer (DRE) is responsible for the engineering, design, development, validation, timing and production release of power folding fabric top systems (power top). The Engineer will have end to end ownership of their components and ensuring they meet vehicle functional objectives. Responsibilities also include: component design, development, and packaging; Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) testing; change management; bill of material maintenance; prototype and production build support; issues management; CAD model management in Teamcenter; weight reduction, cost reduction and other efficiency improvement initiatives; and communicating technical product status to management. Additionally, supporting vehicle assembly plants for any product technical issues, support service teams for any field warranty issues and help in root cause analysis of the failures.Basic QualificationsMinimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree fieldMinimum of 5 years experience in sun roof systems or similar mechanisms Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to work autonomously, excellent communication skills, positive attitude, willingness to learn, flexibility, team-player, and attention to detailMechatronic component design and release experienceWorking knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Proficiency in advanced CAD software such as NX, CATIA or SolidWorksExperience in power top, convertible top or sunroof componentsOur Benefits — Designed With You In MindComprehensive Health & Well-being CoverageFrom your very first day, you’ll have access to medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage — ensuring you and your family stay healthy and protected.
