Associate General CounselCommercial Real Estate | DC Metro Area An established and well-capitalized commercial real estate firm is seeking an Associate General Counsel to support a broad portfolio of real estate transactions and ongoing legal matters across its platform. This role will be based in the DC metro area and offers meaningful exposure to sophisticated real estate work in a collaborative, business-minded environment. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide legal support for a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint venturesDraft, review, and negotiate commercial leases (office, retail, industrial, mixed-use) from both landlord and tenant perspectivesSupport due diligence efforts related to acquisitions and developments, including title, survey, zoning, and contract reviewAdvise internal stakeholders on real estate-related legal issues throughout the lifecycle of assetsManage and coordinate with outside counsel as neededAssist with ongoing portfolio matters and risk management initiatives Qualifications5+ years of experience practicing commercial real estate lawStrong background in real estate transactions, leasing, and acquisitionsExperience gained at a respected law firm and/or in-house real estate platformJuris Doctor from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standingPractical, business-oriented approach with strong drafting and negotiation skillsAbility to manage multiple matters independently in a fast-paced environment Why This RoleOpportunity to work closely with senior leadership on high-impact transactionsBroad exposure across an active and diverse commercial real estate portfolioCollegial, team-oriented culture with long-term growth potential
