We are currently seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist to join our Iowa Clinical Department. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you'll work directly with individuals to assess their needs, develop personalized care plans, and connect them with essential services and supports. You'll be part of a mission-driven team that values your expertise, supports your growth, and empowers you to make a real difference in your community.Key ResponsibilitiesAdheres to the CareStar Rule in performance of job responsibilities.Understands and complies with CareStar Policies and Procedures.Maintains confidentiality as related to patient information. Any disclosures of confidential information made unlawfully outside the proper course of duty will be treated as a serious disciplinary offence.Follows the Acceptable Use Policy while using any information systems owned or controlled by CareStar.Complete behavioral health assessments and related documentation within established timelines.Evaluate behavioral health symptoms, functional impact, support needs, and risk factors.Communicate assessment outcomes to appropriate parties in accordance with policy and confidentiality requirements.Support coordination with behavioral health providers, case managers, MCOs, and agency personnel.Recognize and escalate urgent behavioral health concerns, safety issues, or service gaps.Minimum QualificationsCurrent and active license as a Licensed Independent Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.Experience in behavioral health assessment, case management, or related services preferred.Effective organizational, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.Effective computer skills with familiarity with suite of Microsoft Office programs.Reliable transportation to travel within assigned region as business requires.Valid driver's license and car insurance as required by State law.Why Join CareStar?Competitive salary based on experience and educationComprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance401(k) with a generous company matchPaid time off + 10 paid holidaysEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) - become a part-owner in the companySupportive, mission-driven culture focused on improving livesApply TodayReady to make a difference?
