The EMT will be responsible for providing Basic Life Support (BLS) patient care and ambulance transportation.EducationHigh School Diploma or GEDLicenses and CertificationsDriver's LicenseEMT - BHealthcare Provider (CPR)QualificationsKnowledge: -Emergency clinical practices, procedures, and protocolTechnical Skills: -Diagnosing and treating patients -Exercising judgment, dexterity, and physical coordination -Preparing clear and concise reports -Driving emergency vehiclesBehavioral and Physical Skills: -Act calmly and quickly in emergencies -Work independently as part of a team, sometimes alongside emergency fire and police units -Create and maintain a positive and cooperative working environment in stressful situations -Work during odd hours and for extended periods, sometimes outdoors and in adverse weather conditions -Work with much standing, bending, and kneeling -Work with a partner in lifting patients whose weight occasionally exceeds 200 pounds -Avoid or minimize health risks from exposure to ill patients.Current Georgia EMT-B license required.
