Staff/Senior Accountant – Cash Application & Loan Reconciliation Bethesda, MD | 4 Days OnsiteOur client is a well-capitalized, middle-market specialty finance firm backed by one of the largest alternative asset managers in the world. As they integrate a new portfolio company, they are adding a cash application and loan reconciliation specialist to their team.Role OverviewHigh-volume, process-heavy accounting role focused on cash application and loan-level reconciliation within a private credit platform. You will receive incoming cash from borrowers, match it to the correct loan contracts, and ensure accurate allocation across principal, interest, and fees.Key ResponsibilitiesApply incoming cash payments to the correct loan contracts (principal, interest, fees)Reconcile cash received against expected loan activity and investigate discrepanciesIdentify and resolve short pays, timing differences, and misapplied cashWork within loan structures and payment schedules to ensure contract-level accuracyManage a high volume of daily transactions with precision and attention to detailQualifications3–5 years of experience in cash application and/or reconciliationsBackground in lending, leasing, or high-volume transactional environments strongly preferredStrong Excel skills; ability to work with contracts, payment schedules, and loan dataDetail-oriented with a process-driven mindsetPolished and professional presentationCompensation: $45–$50/hr (contract to perm)
