AV Systems Design Engineer

Overview In this role you design AV systems for professional integrators, provide training, commissioning, and technical support, and act as a technical advisor to the sales team. You will develop system designs and bills of materials, perform onsite commissioning, and demonstrate solutions to clients. You collaborate across functions to ensure reliable, scalable AV deployments that align with Extron’s standards. Travel up to 40% may be required, offering opportunities to shape large-scale AV projects. ResponsibilitiesAssist customers in developing Extron AV system designs and documentationReview AV system RFPs and create accurate bills of materialsCommission advanced Extron AV solutionsConduct onsite product demonstrationsServe as escalation point for onsite troubleshooting of AV systems Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in engineering5+ years of experience in designing professional A/V systemsExperience with onsite commissioning of professional A/V systemsExperience supporting and troubleshooting professional A/V installationsKnowledge of technologies used in professional A/V systemsCTS or CTS-D (plus: XTP-E, CCNA or CompTIA Network+)AutoCAD or Visio (plus)MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)Strong communicationPresentation skillsInterpersonal skillsA/V system designRFP analysis and BOM creationOn-site commissioning
