Cloud Engineer (Advisor)Location: Hybrid – Plano, TX or Reston, VAExperience Level: 6+ yearsEmployment Type: Full-timeCompensation: Base + 20% bonusOverviewWe’re looking for a Cloud Engineer (Advisor) to design, build, and scale secure, highly available cloud environments across multi-cloud platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering with strategic advisory responsibilities, supporting both technical teams and business stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement resilient, fault-tolerant cloud architecturesBuild and manage cloud environments (accounts, VPCs, networking) across enterprise platformsDevelop and execute failover and disaster recovery strategiesAutomate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) toolsDrive CI/CD implementation and DevOps best practicesOptimize cloud environments for scalability, performance, and cost efficiencyUse analytics and KPIs to continuously improve platform performanceAdvise stakeholders (technical and non-technical) on cloud strategy and solutionsMentor and develop mid-to-senior level engineersRequired Technical SkillsStrong experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCPDeep knowledge of:Cloud infrastructure and architectureNetworking and software-defined networkingSecurity and identity managementExperience building scalable cloud environments (e.g., VPCs, multi-account setups)Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelinesCloud-native services (e.g., Lambda, SNS, serverless frameworks)Scripting or programming experience (Python preferred)Core CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to operate in mission-critical environmentsExcellent communication skills across technical and business teamsExperience mentoring or leading engineersNice to HaveMulti-cloud experience (AWS + Azure or GCP)Advanced cloud cost optimization strategiesExperience shaping cloud governance or platform strategy
