RF Communications Engineer - Human SpaceflightPosition DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced RF Communications Engineer to lead the design, integration, and validation of radio communication systems for human spaceflight modules. This role is critical to ensuring reliable, high-performance RF communications between space-based platforms and ground systems throughout the mission lifecycle.The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in RF system design, test, and integration within aerospace or spaceflight environments and is comfortable working across multidisciplinary engineering teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop radio communication systems for human-rated spaceflight modulesPerform RF link budget calculations and analyze end-to-end system performanceLead the integration of RF communication components with spacecraft and ground hardware/softwarePlan and execute functional, performance, and integration testing of RF subsystemsConduct RF interference (RFI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) analyses for space-based communication systemsUtilize advanced RF test equipment to troubleshoot, validate, and optimize system performanceCollaborate closely with systems, avionics, software, and ground operations teams to ensure mission successSupport design reviews, verification plans, and technical documentationRequired SkillsRF and radio frequency system designRF system integration and testExpertise with RF test equipmentStrong in Electrical EngineeringHands-on experience supporting complex, high-reliability systemsTop SkillsRF / Radio Frequency EngineeringRF Test EquipmentRadio System IntegrationAdditional Skills & QualificationsRF integration and RF testing experienceProficiency with spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and related RF test toolsExperience in aerospace or spaceflight programsFamiliarity with human-rated or mission-critical communication systemsUnderstanding of space-based RF environments and constraintsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
