IT Director
Description and Job Responsibilities:
This is full-time position provide strategic leadership and vision for the IT department, aligning technology initiatives with the overall mission and values of the facility.
o Oversee the management of our technological systems, including Active Directory, Vmware/Vsphere, and network security measures, to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of sensitive data.
o Lead a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
o Develop and implement policies and procedures related to technology usage, data management, and information security, with a strong emphasis on ethical considerations and respect for individual privacy rights.
o Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
o Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, continually assessing their potential impact on our operations and the individuals in our care.
Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Active Directory, Vmware/Vsphere, and network security.
Understanding the implementation of a security lifecycle, including the process of deploying, managing, and maintaining security measures throughout the entire lifespan of the infrastructure.
Proficiency in implementing and managing complex IT infrastructures, including servers, storage systems, and virtualization technologies.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, including threat detection, incident response, and risk mitigation strategies.
Experience with data encryption, access control mechanisms, and identity management solutions to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
Knowledge of compliance standards and regulations relevant to detention facilities, such as HIPAA, and the ability to ensure IT systems adhere to such requirements.
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, and experience in integrating cloud solutions into existing IT environments is preferred.
Leadership and Management Skills:
Proven track record of leading and managing a team of IT professionals, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
Ability to provide strategic direction and vision for the IT department, aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels of the organization.
Experience in developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and standards, with a focus on promoting ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including facility management and external vendors, to address complex challenges and achieve shared objectives.
Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with relevant legal frameworks and guidelines governing the use of technology in detention facilities, and the ability to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
