The coordinator works with the Program Manager to ensure the Ballet Folklorico program is implemented with a high level of quality, ensuring successful engagement of youth in the program and performance at organizational events. This position collaborates with partner organizations, schools, local government, and the community to raise the visibility and profile of Latino Network’s Ballet Folklorico programs. This position offers the opportunity to elevate Latino Network’s Ballet Folklorico programs, instill a sense of cultural pride in our community’s youth, and leverage performing arts as a catalyst for youth development, engagement, life skills and empowermentResponsibilitiesWorks with Program Manager to ensure the Ballet Folklorico program is implemented with a high level of quality, including Corazones Alegres, school-based ballet folklorico programs, which includes the following tasks:Attending Practices while supervising children to ensure safety and cooperation, maintaining attendance and recording in Latino Network’s data entry software; help to schedule, coordinate, and attend community performances and events; Coordinating and maintaining all costuming needs and maintaining storage where costumes are stored; Works with Program Manager to ensure high level of quality in family engagement and support for ballet folklorico families, which includes the following tasks:Being in charge of all communication with the parents, guardians, contractors, and all student dancers verbally and on an electronic communication platform.Work with the manager to host parent and group gatherings and celebrations throughout the dance school year. Maintains collaborative relationships across programs within Latino Network to support effective integration of programs and agency staff morale.Maintains and nurtures mutually trusting relationships with key program partners, including schools, libraries and other community based organizations connected to the program.Helps to prepare and submit funder reports to the Program Manager r for final review and approval.Engages in planning for program growthHelp with the coordination of program contractors assigned to the Ballet Folklorico programs for instruction and/or events.Prepares talking points, fact sheets, and action items with Program Manager oversight for any Ballet Folklorico related program communication. Works closely with the manager to document effectiveness and inform program improvements through: accurate data collection, data analysis, and evaluation of program outcomes.Advocates for policies that promote equity and advance the interest of Latino youth and families in the areas of youth opportunity, cultural identity development, arts and culture programming, and youth violence prevention.Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance. Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.Respectfully takes direction from the supervisor.Manages projects and other cultural activity duties as assigned by the Program Manager.RequirementsREQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:Excellent written and oral bilingual communication skills in Spanish and English.Experience leading and coordinating culturally specific performing arts programs for Latinx youth.Demonstrated commitment to inclusion of youth with diverse strengths and barriers to engagement.Experience coordinating activities and events.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with schools, students, families, and community support systems.Demonstrated ability to work both independently, lead a team, and work as a collaborative team member, knowing when to bring back information to the Program Manager.Ability to be flexible and adaptive to successfully achieve the functions of the position as described in the job responsibilities.Employs critical thinking and confidence in decision-making and carrying out actions.Ability to inspire and motivate others.Proven ability to work under pressure, manage time, and prioritize tasks to meet goals and deadlines effectively.Commitment to personal and professional development.Additional Administrative And Physical RequirementsRegularly work in the office, in the community, and remotely as needed.Evening and weekend availability may be required, and work hours are flexible to accommodate program implementation; long hours during peak periods.May work in the community including, schools, churches, parks, community centers, etc.Undergoing and passing criminal background checks is required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
