Senior Product Developer
A Sr. Product Developer who is creative with innovative thinking skills and has the ability to work in a fast-paced working environment is needed for our Carlson Store Fixtures business.
The product developer is responsible for analyzing customer expectations of new designs and products related to Store Fixtures and Merchandising Displays. With an understanding of expectations new and creative designs that meet both company and client expectations.

A detail-oriented individual, with the ability to understand design, business and engineering skills to create products that meet both market and production requirements. You have the ability to resolve problems and work well within a team environment or independently.
What does this job look like daily?
Administer and facilitate company’s product development cycle, per project, with consideration of costs, time, functionality, and manufacturability.
Partner with Sales team to translate business objectives into tailored client presentations and visual stories including case studies, renderings, and product design enhancements relative to client brand.
Independent Project Ownership: Manage the full design lifecycle from initial concept to final prototype.
Provide technical product support and guidance for new and existing products to Sales team, Project Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Estimating departments.
Design and develop drawings for client review and approval process.
Develop fabrication drawings for vendor quoting and fabrication.
Risk Management; Primary responsibility for identifying and addressing fixture designs from physical risks ensuring that every design is optimized for both public safety and long-term operational reliability.
Review and approve all revision-controlled documentation, per project, including but not limited to production drawings, bill of materials, and cut lists.
Provide accurate and clear direction of status and next step to departmental resources.
Have the ability to communicate with clients, vendors and staff to deliver cost effect high quality products to our customers.
Manage multiple priorities and complex tasks, while displaying professional approach.
Develop and recommend timely solutions to problems.
Mentor and train peers and other department members as needed.
Help in other areas as seen fit by Director of Engineering.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills to be successful:
Undergraduate degree drafting/design.
Prior experience with store fixture/display design with emphasis in wood and metal manufacturing or related industry.
Be familiar with general drafting standards and store fixture or cabinet construction techniques.
Specialized skill in creating high-end presentations to deliver new business solutions
Strong organizational skills to prioritize competing deadlines independently in a fast-paced environment
Capability to effectively convey design principles to customers and non-design partners, particularly the sales and leadership teams
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of information furnished in written and oral form.
Must possess effective communication skills when working with sales managers, project managers, engineers, manufacturing supervisors, manufacturing team leaders, drafters, detailers, and purchasing. Must maintain good working relationships with clients and vendors.
