This role will focus on the design, development, integration, and sustainment of mission-critical software systems that enable training effectiveness, system interoperability, and operational readiness. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and experience working within DoD acquisition and engineering environments.Hybrid Work Disclaimer: This position may allow for hybrid work; however, employees must be able and willing to travel and provide in-office or on-site support as required by customer requirements, project demands, or business needs.DutiesLead the design, development, testing, and integration of complex software systems supporting aviation training platforms and range systemsProvide technical leadership and guidance to junior developers and cross-functional engineering teamsSupport system architecture development, including interface design, data flow, and integration strategiesDevelop and maintain software in accordance with DoD, NAVAIR, and industry standardsParticipate in Agile/Scrum development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and code reviewsPerform software verification and validation (V&V), including unit testing, integration testing, and system testingSupport DevSecOps implementation, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure code practicesCollaborate with government stakeholders, IPT leads, and external vendors to ensure alignment with program objectivesAnalyze system requirements and translate them into technical solutionsSupport configuration management, cybersecurity compliance, and documentation effortsRequired EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical fieldRequired Experience5+ years of relevant software engineering experienceStrong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, C#)Experience with software architecture, system integration, and full software development lifecycle (SDLC)Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practicesExperience working in a DoD or NAVAIR environmentPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical fieldExperience supporting aviation training systems, simulators, or mission systemsKnowledge of DoD 5000 series, NAVAIR processes, and RMF cybersecurity frameworkExperience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud)Familiarity with modeling and simulation (M&S) environmentsExperience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Prior experience supporting PMA-205 or similar program officesMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. The salary range for this position is $77,571.36-$150,000.00 (annualized USD).
