Senior Accountant

CFS has partnered with a professional services firm seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing Finance team in Worcester, MA. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and work closely with both Finance and Operations. Why This Role Stands Out The company has seen 50+ years of success in the professional services industry Collaborative, improvement‑focused culture High visibility with leadership and multiple business units Hybrid work model for flexibility Strong opportunity for a Senior Accountant looking to broaden their corporate finance skills Job Responsibilities As a Senior Accountant, you will: Lead and execute month‑end and year‑end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis Prepare accurate financial statements and contribute to management reporting packages Maintain the general ledger and ensure data integrity across multiple business units Support budgeting and forecasting with detailed financial analysis Coordinate external audits, prepare schedules, and respond to auditor inquiries Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements Assist with AP/AR oversight and cash flow monitoring as needed Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 3+ years of accounting experience Public accounting or CPA preferred, but not required Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting practices Advanced Excel skills Experience with modern accounting systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, etc.) High attention to detail and strong analytical skills Excellent communication skills and proactive problem‑solving attitude Salary Range $80,000–$100,000, depending on experience
