From Hans Hempler’s journey to becoming a master sausage maker to building a legacy in the United States, our history is rooted in quality, tradition, and passion.Today, we’re looking for a people-first Human Resources Manager to help carry that legacy forward by shaping a strong, inclusive, and high‑performing workplace culture.As our Human Resources Manager, you will be the senior HR presence at our Ferndale manufacturing plant—owning the people strategy, leading the HR team onsite, and partnering directly with plant and corporate leadership to drive business results through people.You’ll influence culture.You’ll coach and challenge leaders.You’ll balance strategic planning with hands‑on execution.This is a hands-on, strategic role ideal for an HR leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and thinking long-term. This is an onsite position five days per week initially, with potential for one remote day per week after full training.WAGE: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually, depending on experience. (Subject to all required taxes and withholdings).What You’ll OwnLead, develop, and manage the plant HR team, including direct supervisionOwn HR strategy and execution at the plant level, ensuring alignment with company goalsPartner with corporate HR to deploy and enhance company-wide programs, policies, and practicesDrive employee relations strategy—leading investigations, ensuring consistency, and reinforcing accountabilityBuild and sustain a workplace culture grounded in trust, engagement, and performanceCoach leaders at all levels on performance management, employee development, and conflict resolutionLead the performance review process and elevate leadership capability across the organizationOversee benefits administration and ensure employees understand and maximize their offeringsDesign and lead recognition, rewards, and service award programsDevelop and deliver training programs for managers and employees, ensuring legal compliance and leadership effectivenessOwn compliance across all applicable employment laws and regulationsMaintain audit‑ready HR records and data integritySupport plant safety and risk management initiativesAnalyze workforce data and generate actionable HRIS reportingParticipate in cross‑functional leadership meetings and annual HR planningLead and support special projects tied to manufacturing and operational improvementRequiredWhat It Takes to Win in This RoleBachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience2+ years leading direct reportsStrong command of employment law and HR best practices (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, Workers’ Comp, 401(k), etc.)Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systemsStrongly PreferredPHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certificationManufacturing environment experienceSpanish language skillsYou BringExecutive‑level presence and natural leadership abilityThe confidence to coach, influence, and challenge leaders when neededHigh integrity, sound judgment, and strong ethicsThe ability to think strategically and execute tacticallyComfort operating in change, ambiguity, and a high‑energy environmentA practical, solutions‑oriented mindsetA sense of humor and appreciation for a culture that values hard work—and having fun along the wayA genuine belief in company values and people‑centered leadershipWhy Hempler’s?Because at Hempler’s, HR matters.
