Bakery/cafe team lead. Closing shifts required
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Bakery/Cafe Team Lead to oversee daily operations during closing shifts. Anything and everything the bakery/cafe may need to provide fresh products to capture all the sales possible. Helping and small production roles in all areas as the business dictates. This role is vital in ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and leading a motivated team of food service professionals. As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing food preparation(including fresh baking, cake decorating, and sandwich making), cash handling, and POS transactions while fostering a positive environment that encourages teamwork and efficiency. Your leadership will help create an inviting atmosphere where customers feel valued and satisfied with their experience.
Responsibilities
Supervise the closing shift team, ensuring smooth operations from food prep to customer service.
Oversee food preparation, ensuring all baked goods and cafe items meet quality standards and safety regulations.
Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for sales transactions, refunds, and order processing.
Manage cash handling procedures accurately, including balancing registers at shift end.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, upselling products, and resolving issues promptly.
Maintain sanitation and food safety standards by adhering to proper food handling, sanitation protocols, and kitchen cleanliness.
Assist with food industry tasks such as bussing tables, stocking supplies, and supporting kitchen operations during busy periods.
Support team development through coaching on food preparation techniques, sales strategies, and POS usage.
Experience
Previous experience in food service or quick service & fast food restaurant environments is preferred.
Familiarity with POS systems like Toast, Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable.
Culinary experience or background in the food industry will be advantageous.
Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during closing shifts.
Demonstrated ability in sales, upselling, cashiering, and customer service roles.
Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and basic math for cash handling and retail math calculations.
