Primary responsibility:
Larken Associates is seeking a Residential Property Accountant to be a vital member of the accounting team while managing the day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities for an assigned portfolio of residential properties.
Primary activities:
Review tenant rent statements and ledgers
Review tenant and vendor accounts to ensure good standing
Ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner
Set up, process, and track weekly payments for select vendors
Monitor property utility meters
Code, enter invoices, and process payments
Handle inquiries from vendors concerning payment of invoices
Prepare monthly vendor payment reports (aging schedules)
Maintain certificates of insurance for all material suppliers and subcontractors
Maintain tax documentation for subcontractors for year-end 1099 preparation
Manage payable requests/requirements, including waivers of lien, insurance and any additional contractually required documents necessary to invoice tenants or pay vendors
Review tenant ledgers to ensure receivables are current and accurate
Process tenant move-ins and move-outs
Update CAM information for each lease in Yardi
Coordinate legal filings with outside counsel, as necessary
Requirements/Qualifications:
2+ years of real estate accounting experience
Excellent analytical, time management and communications skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Experience with Yardi
