Production Supervisor
Prodution Supervisor – Injection Molding (Plastics Manufacturing)If you’ve spent time on a production floor and know injection molding isn’t something you manage from a desk, this role is built for you.This is a hands-on leadership position at a smaller plastics facility producing 5-gallon buckets. You’ll have real ownership over operations, driving production, solving problems in real time, and leading a tight-knit team where your impact is visible every day.What You’ll Be DoingYou won’t just be overseeing production; you’ll be in it.Lead a team of 6 across production, maintenance, quality, and shippingRun daily injection molding operations, including scheduling and staffingMonitor and improve machine uptime, cycle efficiency, and throughputManage scrap reduction, downtime tracking, and labor efficiencyOversee machine setup, mold/tooling changes, and process adjustmentsCoordinate preventative maintenance to keep equipment running reliablyEnsure product meets quality specs, tolerances, and customer requirementsMaintain control of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventoryTroubleshoot processing issues, mechanical problems, and production bottlenecksTrack and report KPIs (production output, scrap rates, downtime, OEE)Drive continuous improvement initiatives on the floorEnforce safety standards and 5S practices in a manufacturing environmentTechnical Skills That MatterThis role is ideal for someone who understands how plastic parts are made, not just managed.Injection molding processes (setup, cycle optimization, troubleshooting)Experience with thermoplastics and molding parameters (temperature, pressure, cooling, cycle time)Familiarity with molds, tooling changes, and machine setupUnderstanding of preventative maintenance systems and equipment reliabilityAbility to analyze scrap, downtime, and production dataExposure to quality control processes and product specificationsWorking knowledge of production scheduling and workflow coordinationComfortable using spreadsheets, production reports, and basic systemsWhat They’re Looking For3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or production leadershipBackground in injection molding or plastics manufacturing is strongly preferredSomeone who leads from the floor, not from behind a deskStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced production environmentNo degree required—hands-on experience matters moreWork EnvironmentActive role on the production floor, expect to be on your feet and engagedManufacturing setting with heat, noise, and moving equipmentOccasional lifting of materials or finished goods
