The Business Intelligence Developer (BID) functions as the expert for clinicalinformatics, Electronic Health Record (EPIC) reports and data visualizationtools. The BID has expert knowledge on the EHR applications and appliessuperior ability to work with reporting and data analytics customers tounderstand, design and document complex reporting and analytics needs and areable to coordinate all issues that arise during the reporting and data analyticsassignments and projects. The business intelligence developer will analyzeproblems often without precedent and/or existing structure within UCSF Healthand Benioff Children's Hospitals, and address complex problems with anorganization-wide scope. The BID will perform data analysis using independentjudgment and technical expertise. This position will support the deliveryof outstanding patient care, operational performance, quality, and improvementefforts to help streamline processes and decision making with a focus on EHRreporting, data analysis and visualization for UCSF Health, Benioff Children'sHospitals and our affiliates. As part of the data analysis and reportingefforts, this position will focus on providing expertise across different datasystems (All Epic EHR reporting tools, SQL, Tableau, etc.). This position alsowill be part of the clinical systems application teams to manage the analysis ofdata, evaluation of data, getting feedback from key stakeholders and using datato support the performance of our hospitals, clinics, staff, programs, andoperations. Attention to detail and strong communication are critical skills for thisposition. Works to help other users learn and adopt the development standardsand enjoys helping users enhance their data visualization and reporting skills.Requires strong EHR application knowledge and technical skills, and expertanalytical abilities in the areas of data extraction, report generation, andinformation visualization, including but not limited to all EHR Epic reportingtools, reporting workbench, radar, SlicerDicer, SQL server and tableau. The BIDmight also develop user training aids and train end users in the use of reports& reporting functions & tools.
