The Opportunity NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Fredericksburg, Virginia clinic.In this role, you will care for a diverse patient population, manage a wide range of urgent care conditions, and practice with a high degree of clinical independence supported by physician oversight, standardized protocols, and a collaborative care team. What You ll Do Evaluate, diagnose, and treat urgent care patients across the lifespanManage common urgent care presentations, including acute illness, injuries, and minor proceduresPerform and interpret basic diagnostics (X-ray, EKG, labs)Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions clearlyDocument care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health recordMaintain clinical productivity consistent with urgent care standardsDeliver care aligned with NextCare s clinical, ethical, and quality expectations Clinic Hours & Schedule Monday Friday: 8:00 AM 8:00 PMSaturday Sunday: 8:00 AM 4:00 PMProviders work 12-hour shifts within operating hoursRotating weekends and holidays required Qualifications RequiredActive, unrestricted Virginia licenseNCCPA-certified Physician Assistant or ANCC/AANP-certified Nurse PractitionerFamily practice scope; comfortable treating patients from pediatrics through geriatricsActive DEA registrationBLS certificationComfort practicing independently in an urgent care settingWillingness to work rotating weekends and holidaysDOT certification preferred or willingness to obtain (training provided at no cost)PreferredPrior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track ER experienceStrong procedural skills (suturing, splinting, wound care)Experience with initial X-ray interpretation Compensation & Benefits NextCare offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time providers, including:CME and license reimbursementMalpractice insuranceMedical, dental, and vision coverageHealth Savings Account (HSA)401(k) with company participationPaid time offShort- and long-term disabilityLife insurance and voluntary benefits Apply Apply directly through DocCafe, or reach out with a copy of your resume and I ll be in touch with next steps.Maddie KarnesVP of Provider RecruitmentNextCare Urgent Care
