Responsibilities: Assist Project Managers with the development and preparation of plans, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates. Assist Project Managers in acquisition of easements, design, permitting, and construction of pipelines, storage tanks, pump stations, treatment systems for rural water, and related municipal facilities. Perform construction observation by working with Contractors to ensure the project document requirements, process, schedule, and related contractual obligations are understood and followed by Contractors performing work for Owner. Perform project administration by maintaining and preparing appropriate files, reports, and records for documentation purposes including daily reports, tracking reports, photos, close out paperwork, and other information related to the project. Assist professional surveyors with field work on crews performing data gathering for designs or construction staking. Ensure appropriate communication between the Owner and Engineer to keep all parties updated on progress and quality of the project. Understand duties and responsibilities under Engineer’s Agreement with the Owner, as well as the Contractor’s Agreement with the Owner for each project to ensure obligations and expectations are met. Understand and monitor project budgets and follow up on related tasks as assigned; coordinate Change Orders with the Project Manager. Attend meetings and follow up with other construction representatives and personnel related to scheduling, workforce, material delivery, change orders, RFI, start up, etc. Represent AE2S in a highly professional and respectful manner at all times. Occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload. Frequent day-trip travel to off-site locations with occasional overnight stays out of town. Basic Requirements Associate’s degree in engineering, construction, or other related technical field or ability to attain within 12 months Related experience in construction, drafting, GIS, or other technical field related to civil engineering. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to travel and work remote as required. Ability to lift 40 pounds. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or other related technical field or ability to attain within 12 months 2+ years of construction experience or engineering based construction observation and administration experience on civil, water, wastewater, industrial, or rural water related projects. AutoCAD or Civil 3D experience. ArcGIS or ArcGIS Pro experience. Understanding of project life cycle. Understanding of project management. Experience with writing project specifications.
