BIM Coordinator

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced *Mechanical BIM Coordinator / VDC Coordinator* with hands-on mechanical trade experience and a strong background in *3D coordination*. The ideal candidate will have experience leading coordination efforts on complex *hospitals, laboratories, central utility plants, and large institutional projects*, with expertise across mechanical, piping, plumbing, and sheet metal disciplines. Key Responsibilities * Lead and coordinate 3D mechanical coordination efforts across project teams. * Develop CAD-generated mechanical layouts based on project specifications. * Create fabrication drawings, spool drawings, and coordination drawings for fabrication shop and field use. * Perform field and 3D coordination to identify and resolve mechanical conflicts. * Coordinate mechanical systems with other trades and project disciplines. * Develop detailed 3D coordination models for project execution. * Review equipment layouts and mechanical system requirements. * Support coordination of: * Mechanical systems * HVAC systems * Process systems * Advanced plumbing systems * Piping systems * Sheet metal systems * Identify design and installation conflicts and develop practical field solutions. * Work independently to meet project deadlines and coordination milestones. * Collaborate with field personnel, project managers, fabrication teams, engineers, and other stakeholders. Required Technical Skills * *Revit* * *SYSQue* * *Navisworks* * *AutoCAD* * 3D modeling and coordination * Field coordination * Mechanical layout development * Fabrication and spool drawings Required Qualifications * *3-5 years of relevant field experience* in mechanical 3D coordination. * Demonstrated experience resolving mechanical conflicts in the field. * Previous experience creating *3D coordination drawings*. * Experience with complex: * Hospitals * Laboratories * Central Utility Plants * Large institutional projects * Experience across *three mechanical disciplines*, including: * Sheet Metal * Piping * Plumbing * Hands-on understanding of mechanical trades and installation requirements. * Experience with equipment and systems associated with mechanical, HVAC, process, and advanced plumbing applications. * Ability to produce detailed, accurate mechanical layouts and coordination drawings. * Strong understanding of constructability and field installation requirements.
