Our team is world recognized for making core drill components for NASA’s Perseverance Rover on planet Mars.Primary ResponsibilitiesFabricate, maintain and repair press tooling for tungsten carbide productionFabricate, maintain and repair press robot arms/end effectorsFabricate, maintain and repair process fixtures for all departmentsSupport plant equipment and maintenance department with machining services and technical supportPress die-set maintenance supportContinuous improvement of the processTechnical support for production employeesTool Maker DutiesFabricate and maintain press tooling, fixtures, robot end effectors and equipmentMachining – milling, turning (manual/CNC)Wire and sinker EDM experience is an assetEDM drill experience is an assetUse CAD/CAM software (primarily Autodesk Inventor & MasterCAM)GrindingSteel hardeningBrazingHand work, fitting and polishing3D printingAble to read/interpret engineering drawings and CAD drawingsAble to understand written and verbal communication that ensures safety and accuracy in all aspects of the jobTroubleshooting – teamwork with others to resolve issues to ensure continuity of productionEducation, Training And ExperienceBC Ticket as a Tool and Die Maker or interprovincial red seal certificationCommunicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.Intermediate to advanced computer skills and CAD/CAM software experience.Good interpersonal and organization and teamwork skills. Able to work well within a team environment.
