Pharmacist

Cedar Recovery is a CARF accredited outpatient addiction treatment company based in MountJuliet, TN. The company owns and operates fourteen (14) office-based opioid treatment(OBOT) facilities, opioid treatment programs (OTP), and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) inTennessee & Virginia. Cedar's approach to treatment combines the utilization of medications(Methadone, Buprenorphine, and Naltrexone) coupled with counseling, peer recovery support,and case management to deliver an integrated model of care in addressing the opioid crisis.Position Summary:Cedar Recovery is seeking to contract a pharmacist on a PRN or part-time basis for its OpioidTreatment Program (OTP) in Bristol, VA. The pharmacist is a key leadership role within thefacility. The candidate must possess a valid and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacistin the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Pharmacist will ensure compliance with DEA and staterules regarding the ordering, storage, logging, and administration of medications, includingtake-home doses. The pharmacist is expected to collaborate with medical staff to ensureconsistency between the ordering and dispensing of medications. This position reports directlyto Cedar's Deputy Chief Medical Officer.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Monitoring the preparation and dispensing of medications for accuracy, includingcorrect dosing and formulation.• Preparing or assisting in the preparation of take-home doses of medications (OTP).• Develop Cedar's controlled substance logging system of controlled and non-controlledsubstances.• Provide education to patients through counseling activities, including dosing, side-effects, risks, benefits, and interactions.• Properly report compliance violations, medication discrepancies, patient's adversereaction, and/or diversion concerns.• Ensure compliance with all DEA, State, Federal, and SAMHSA rules for the ordering,dispensing, disposing, and storage of controlled substances.• Perform audits of inventory ensuring all medications are accounted for.• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.• Monitor the state's controlled substance monitoring database and central registry• Provide input on operational and strategic decisions related to Cedar's program.• Demonstrate Cedar's core values and culture.• Implement Cedar's strategic initiatives, programs, and directives in the facility.• When requested, attend conferences, meetings, and other events.Additional Expectations:• Be available to all personnel supervised by the pharmacist to provide guidance ordirection.• Maintain knowledge of up-to-date best practices related to addiction and mental healthtreatment.• Utilize Cedar's data and KPI to dashboard to drive improvement and efficiency.• Identify process improvements and recommendations within the medical operationsand report such findings to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer.• Remaining flexible to change in an ever-evolving field of medicine.• Attend community events and assist Cedar in becoming an active community partner.Required Credentials:• Possess an unrestricted and unencumbered license to practice as a Pharmacist in theCommonwealth of Virginia. Cedar Recovery will consider pharmacists who have anencumbered license due to a previous substance use disorder and are actively involved ina state monitoring program.• Graduate of a nationally accredited pharmacy school.• Experience in providing pharmacy services in an OTP setting (preferred)
