As an established communitypartner, we have been making a difference in the lives of our employees,caregivers, and patients for more than 25 years.Our commitment to customer service, improving patient care,and staffing experienced healthcare professionals has paved the way for manyrewarding career opportunities in the healthcare industry.For further information and/or to apply to thisopportunity, please contact Brian Curley via email at brcurley@amergis.com! :)The Occupational Therapist is responsible for performing client evaluations, developing and providing occupational therapy services, and documenting services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each patient.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvides skilled occupational therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician ordersReevaluates client for rehabilitation needs, and works in collaboration with the physician and other members of the healthcare team to modify the plan of care as appropriateAssesses patient needs, plans for, evaluates and modifies care to meet goals of Occupational Therapy InterventionsCollaborates with all disciplines to plan and evaluate team goals for each patientInstructs patient/family/caregivers on patient's total occupational therapy programAdvises, consults and instructs members of the multi-disciplinary team in specific occupational therapy modalitiesObserves and reports patient progress and/or changes in patient status to physician and appropriate multi-disciplinary team membersRefers individual to other disciplines as deemed appropriate and as approved by the physicianTeaches new skills or retrains clients in once-familiar daily activities that have become difficult or unfamiliar due to illness or injuryEstablishes equipment needs to facilitate independent livingInstructs individual and/or family/caregiver in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve function; ensures equipment is in good working orderTrains individual and/or family/caregiver in use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devicesPerforms work capacity evaluations and may refer individual to specialized vocational training in accordance with policy and regulationsProvides accurate and timely documentation according to the plan of careParticipates in care conferences or other meetings as required to ensure coordination of home health services (if applicable)Prepares and submits clinical progress-summary based on the progress of goalsProvides in-services/education programs for various disciplines as neededParticipates in peer consultation processSupervises Occupational Therapy Assistants according to company policies/procedures and state regulationsParticipates in discharge planning when applicable Complies with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding professional standards and practice standardsMay fabricate splints and instruct individual and/or family/caregiver in the use, application and benefitsPerforms other duties as assigned/necessaryMinimum RequirementsCurrent licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of practiceMust be a graduate of an accredited school or program of Occupational TherapyOne (1) year of prior professional Occupational Therapy experience preferredComplies with all relevant professional standards of practice Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) Must meet all federal, state and local requirements Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required Computer proficiency required Must be at least 18 years of ageBenefitsAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:Competitive pay & weekly paychecksHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) savings planAwards and recognition programs Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.About AmergisAmergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
