DIRECTOR OF EVENTSJob Description:We are currently seeking a Director of Events to focus on planning & executing our Series of Brewery Running Series events in the state of Iowa (Des Moines & surrounding metro area.)The scope of work for this position includes but is not limited to:PLANNINGPlan and execute a series of 5-20 5k fun run events per yearWork with local breweries to organize eventsNegotiate beer price with breweries Plan 5k course surrounding the breweryServe as main point of contact for customer questions/feedback/complaintsManage a team of support staff, brand ambassadors, and volunteersResponsible for hiring process of support staff/brand ambassadors including initial screening, interviews, training Recruit and orient a team of rotating volunteersDesign and implement volunteer initiativesSecure sponsorships and partnerships with local and national businessesSecure in-kind donations for event raffle and swag bags Design and manage inventory and ordering for event merchandise and swag itemsOwn the relationship with all non-profits, helping to raise awareness by:Coordinating non-profits into each BRS events, including non-profits that best fit the geography of each eventHire photographers and live music for each event Create event listings through EventbriteEVENTSchedule and execute walkthrough with brewery contact to go over final event details Store all event suppliesSend pre-event and post-event emails through MailChimpManage inventory and purchase additional supplies needed for eventManage the design and printing of all materials required for event: course maps, QR codes, Merch pricing, waiver forms On Day of Event:Plan event layout and set up all suppliesManage onsite event teamRegistration ManagerCourse ManagerMerch salesManage on-site registration and check-in Serve as emcee for event announcements/raffleServe as point of contact for brewery/sponsors/volunteersSet up and monitor 5k course Break down and pack up all supplies MARKETINGPlan and execute all marketing for the seriesResponsible for managing social media accounts and generating content to be posted on Instagram and Facebook Respond to social media comments/questionsDesign and send monthly newsletters and event announcements through MailChimpDesign, print, and distribution of postersGrassroots outreach to local businesses and running clubs Manage paid ads through Facebook/Instagram, Google Adwords, and local publicationsUpdate event website through Word PressWrite and send press release for each season and one-off events Post event listings to free event listing websites MISC Responsible for series accounting Attend national team meetingsParticipate in national strategy Work with other series’ and BRS HQ for strategy/event continuity Promote BRS Virtual experiences PROGRAMS USED / EXPERIENCE IN ANY / ALL IS HELPFUL: Social media - Facebook / InstagramCanvaAdobe IllustratorMailchimpWordpressEventbriteYour goal will be to lead the execution of events in a manner of which we get repeat participants & event goers, and to grow our brand awareness.You will be on the frontline of representing our brand messages that weave in elements of running, beer, and fun in a way that represents our Brewery Running Series events!We seek candidates with experience in events & promotions, that are quick to learn and can be empowered. We seek those who are accountable, and manage time well. We seek those that work well in team settings to brainstorm, but can execute specified deliverables independently. We seek those who are passionate about: running, our community, non-profits, and having fun! We are a startup; work hours will be flexible, with portions of mandatory team time each week during evenings and availability to be at events on select weekends.About Us:The Brewery Running Series organizes fun run events that all start and end at local breweries. A portion of all proceeds support local nonprofits. Founded in Minneapolis, MN in 2012, we collectively organize 300+ events annually across the USA.
