Nurse Practitioner / Physician AssistantLocation: Yuma, AZ 85364Position Type: Full-TimeReports To: Medical DirectorPosition OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and clinically strong Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in Yuma, Arizona. This Mid-Level Provider role works under the guidance of the Medical Director and is responsible for evaluating and treating patients with work-related injuries and illnesses in an occupational medicine setting.The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing cases from the initial evaluation through Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI), performing a variety of occupational health physicals, and providing clear, defensible medical documentation and work restrictions.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with work-related injuries and illnessesManage occupational medicine cases from initial visit through Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI)Develop and implement treatment plans consistent with occupational medicine best practices and clinical guidelinesDetermine patient work status and provide clear, medically appropriate, and defensible work restrictionsPerform occupational health examinations, including:Pre-employment physicalsReturn-to-work examsDOT physicalsEmployer-specific physicalsMaintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation within Proactive's EMR systemCollaborate closely with the Medical Director and clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient careCommunicate effectively with employers, case managers, and other stakeholders as neededSupport a professional, efficient, and patient-centered clinic environmentQualificationsActive and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of ArizonaCurrent DEA registration, if applicablePrior experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, family medicine, orthopedics, or emergency medicine preferredStrong clinical assessment and decision-making skillsAbility to manage cases independently while working under physician supervisionExperience performing occupational health physicals preferredStrong documentation and communication skillsComfortable using EMR systemsPreferred ExperienceWorkers' compensation case managementMMI evaluations and ongoing injury managementDOT certification or willingness to obtain itExperience providing return-to-work guidance and work restrictionsIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and confident in treating occupational injuries while balancing patient care, documentation, and employer communication.
