This is a long-term role for someone who thrives in solving complex technical challenges, with significant autonomy to architect and shape backend systems. About the Role We’re looking for a backend-leaning fullstack engineer to take ownership of our backend architecture and infrastructure while contributing to the frontend as needed. You’ll be responsible for designing end-to-end solutions and ensuring seamless integration with our existing Laravel/PHP application. You’ll work on: Backend Development: Architecting scalable systems in Laravel/PHP that integrate smoothly with existing infrastructure. Database Design: Building and optimizing solutions in Postgres and MySQL to handle current and future data needs. Infrastructure: Implementing robust systems architecture with tools like Redis and focusing on performance and scalability. Frontend Collaboration: Supporting React-based frontend development where necessary. Analytics & Mapping: Developing features for data-driven insights and, optionally, map-based interfaces. About You We’re looking for an experienced engineer with a backend-first mindset who excels in creating scalable, integrated systems. You should have: 8+ years of professional software development experience. Expertise in Laravel and backend development, with experience integrating new systems into existing architectures. Strong knowledge of Postgres, MySQL, and caching solutions like Redis. A proven ability to design end-to-end backend solutions that work seamlessly across different components of the system. Familiarity with React, with the ability to contribute to frontend development as needed. Self-driven problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a highly autonomous role. Bonus points for: Experience with Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategies or analytics-heavy environments. Familiarity with building map-based interfaces or similar interactive tools. Why Join Us?
