Senior Technical Service Engineering Consultant
Position OverviewAs a Senior Technical Service Engineering Consultant you will be responsible managing complex product issues to resolution, as the project lead and assist in identifying root cause and corrective actions for Medium and Heavy Duty Vehicles.This is an engineering and technical role working with our dealer network to understand field quality issues arising within our customers’ vehicles, working with engineering to identify a solution for vehicles in both post and pre-production to ensure maximum uptime for our customers.ResponsibilitiesResearch, develop, and implement service repair strategies and technical solutions for vehicles in the fieldMaintain a deep technical understanding of current and upcoming products in the North American marketLead issue resolution for complex technical challenges, leveraging internal teams and external partners as neededAnalyze field data, warranty information, and customer feedback to identify trends and systemic field quality issuesPrepare technical reports, service recommendations, and advanced diagnostic guidanceProvide effective resolution of dealer and fleet complaints, ensuring timely containment and root cause identificationServe as a liaison between Quality, TRATON R&D, Customer Support, Manufacturing, and other internal/external groupsPresent technical findings, risks, and status updates to leadership and cross‑functional stakeholdersSupport and participate in project management activities related to investigations, product support, and service improvementsContribute to continuous improvement of service processes, tools, and customer experienceMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree and at least 5 years of technical service engineering, automotive service or truck service experienceAt least 1 years of lead experienceORMaster's degree and at least 3 years of technical service engineering, automotive service or truck service experienceAt least 1 years of lead experienceORAt least 8 years of technical service engineering, automotive service or truck service experienceAt least 1 years of lead experienceAdditional RequirementsQualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
