Clinical Psychiatric Charge Nurse

Job Description: Psychiatric RN (PRN) – Clinical ResearchRole Overview: The Psychiatric RN (PRN) is responsible for the day-to-day execution of clinical study activities within a research setting. Working under moderate oversight, this position serves as the critical link between the clinical investigative site and the Study Sponsor. The RN ensures that all patient interactions, study procedures, and data collection meet the highest standards of accuracy, ethical compliance, and protocol adherence.Key Responsibilities:Study Execution: Oversee the implementation of daily clinical study protocols, ensuring all research activities are conducted according to the study plan and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.Clinical Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between the investigative site and the Sponsor, facilitating clear communication and resolving site-specific queries.Data Integrity & Documentation: Maintain meticulous, accurate, and ethical documentation of all clinical data and observations obtained throughout the research process, ensuring source documents are audit-ready.Patient Advocacy: Provide professional psychiatric nursing care and support for research participants, ensuring their safety, comfort, and informed consent throughout the trial.Compliance & Safety: Monitor for adverse events, ensure protocol adherence, and report findings in strict accordance with regulatory requirements and institutional policy.Qualifications:Licensure: Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.Specialty Experience: Demonstrated experience in psychiatric nursing; prior clinical research experience is strongly preferred.Technical Skills: Proficient in clinical documentation, data entry, and medical terminology.Professional Attributes: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as a bridge between diverse stakeholders (clinical staff, patients, and sponsors).Ethical Standard: Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards in clinical research, with a sharp eye for detail and regulatory compliance.Work Environment:This is a PRN (as-needed) position, requiring the flexibility to manage fluctuating study volumes while maintaining a high level of clinical focus.
