Computer System Engineer

Job Duties / Responsibilities Perform rack and stack deployment and relocation of servers, storage systems, and network hardware, supporting infrastructure expansion, refresh initiatives, and hardware lifecycle management within production environments. Support IMACD activities while maintaining cabling standards, asset tracking, and infrastructure documentation. Troubleshoot issues involving servers, storage devices, network interfaces, and structured cabling, performing diagnostics and issue isolation to support service restoration and operational continuity. Utilize Linux tools, console access, SSH connectivity, and approved diagnostic scripts to validate system health, investigate operational issues, and support infrastructure maintenance activities. Support infrastructure deployment and post-implementation validation activities by performing system health checks, connectivity verification, and operational readiness testing following maintenance and change activities. Collaborate with infrastructure, systems, and cloud operations teams to support deployment activities, operational readiness, infrastructure maintenance, and ongoing operational support for enterprise environments. Monitor infrastructure health indicators, review operational alerts, and assist with incident response and troubleshooting activities to maintain system availability, reliability, and operational continuity. Document incident investigations, troubleshooting activities, and change records within ITSM platforms to support operational continuity and knowledge sharing. Follow security and access control procedures, supporting secure handling of infrastructure assets and compliance with operational standards.
