Traffic Control Supervisor-TS0326
Sanders Brothers Construction is currently seeking a Traffic Control Supervisor to join our traffic control team. Traffic control is a critical component ensuring the safety of company employees and the general public. The Traffic Control Supervisor is responsible for establishing safe lanes of traffic and monitoring traffic flow. This requires night and weekend shifts.
Role and Responsibilities
The Traffic Control Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing, establishing, and maintaining control of traffic safety and work zones in accordance with Department of Transportation and company safety guidelines.
Responsibilities include:
Position temporary work zones utilizing warning signs, traffic cones, barrels, etc. according to regulatory requirements
Load and unload work zone equipment, sometimes weighing up to 40 pounds, to/from the company vehicle
Drive the company vehicle to and from job sites in a safe manner
Maintain a line of communication with direct manager and set the example
Stand and safely manage traffic control through active work zones while grasping a stop/slow paddle and utilizing radio communication
Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
Respond well to pressure
Keep company vehicle clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems
Correct and enforce DOT Standards on site visits
Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements
Enforce company policy amongst crews daily
Identify safety concerns
Assist with training new employees as needed
Perform any other general duties as specified
Qualifications and Education Requirements
5 years minimum of traffic control experience.
High school diploma/GED preferred.
Must be able to obtain advanced traffic control certification by attending classes and passing written examination.
Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by SBCC policy.
Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment.
Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks.
Have the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds while loading trucks and setting up/tearing down work zones.
Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time.
Flexible availability to include overtime and possible weekends.
Must be Flagger Certified
Must pass Flagger Certification Training and CPR Training.
Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures.
Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.
