CNC Machinist
Job Description
CNC Machinist operates and programs machine tools such as lathes, mills, and grinders controlled by a computer to produce precision metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. The machinist will ensure the efficient operation of the machine, maintain equipment, and inspect finished products for quality and accuracy.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerform machine setups quickly, accurately, and efficientlyWork with engineering and CAM programming department to develop, and improve CNC programsDesign and aid in the fabrication of fixturing for parts of varying complexityAdvise supervisor and programming team of technical advancements to increase productionOperate machines to produce production runs of partsMaintain quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management SystemMonitor and document operational and performance issues and provide feedback to supervisorDevelop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and other staffOther duties as directed by supervisorEDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED required; post-secondary CNC education preferred5+ years of CNC machine operationG & M code fluency and ability to edit programsHigh level of blueprint reading requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES3-5-Axis ExperienceProficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.Strong understanding of machine programming, setup, and operation.Familiarity with precision measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and technical issues.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.Company Description
