This role will focus on Motoman and Fanuc robots used in our manufacturing operations, requiring expertise in robot programming, integration, and troubleshooting.Key ResponsibilitiesRobot Programming & OperationDevelop and optimize robot programs for Motoman and Fanuc systems using their respective programming languages (INFORM for Motoman, KAREL/TP for Fanuc)Create and modify teach pendant programs for complex manufacturing tasksImplement path planning and motion optimization to maximize cycle time efficiencyProgram multi-robot coordination and synchronization for collaborative operationsSystem Integration & MaintenanceIntegrate robotic systems with PLCs, HMIs, and manufacturing execution systemsTroubleshoot robot hardware, software, and network communication issuesPerform preventive maintenance including backup management, calibration, and mechanical inspectionsWork with pneumatic and hydraulic systems connected to robotic end-effectorsProcess Improvement & SafetyAnalyze production bottlenecks and implement robotic solutions to improve throughputDesign and specify end-of-arm tooling and fixtures for robotic applicationsEnsure compliance with OSHA, ANSI/RIA safety standards for industrial robotsConduct risk assessments and implement safety zones, light curtains, and interlock systemsTrain operators and technicians on safe robot operation and basic troubleshootingDocumentation & SupportCreate and maintain detailed documentation of robot programs, configurations, and processesProvide technical support for production teams during robot-related downtimeCollaborate with engineering and production teams on new automation projectsRequired QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field; or equivalent combination of technical training and work experience in industrial robotics.Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience programming and maintaining industrial robotsDemonstrated experience with both Motoman and/or Fanuc robot systems (or similar platforms)Technical SkillsProficiency in robot programming languages (INFORM, KAREL, Teach Pendant programming)Strong understanding of robot kinematics, coordinate systems, and motion controlExperience with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus)Knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)Familiarity with vision systems integration for robot guidanceCAD software experience for fixture design and simulation (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)Core CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematicsUnderstanding of manufacturing processes (welding, material handling, assembly, palletizing, etc.)Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaborationSelf-motivated with ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projectsPreferred QualificationsFanuc and/or Motoman certificationExperience with offline programming software (RobotStudio, MotoSim, RoboGuide)Knowledge of servo systems, motion controllers, and drive systemsExperience with collaborative robots (cobots) and safety-rated systemsBackground in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologiesProject management experience for automation installationsPhysical RequirementsAbility to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levelsCapability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionallyComfortable working at heights on platforms and ladders when accessing robotsWillingness to work flexible hours including occasional weekends for system installations or critical repairs
