Therapist (School Based-Baytown)

Job descriptionPosition SummaryThe School-Based Therapist provides direct mental health services to students within assigned school campuses, supporting the mission of Family Service Center to strengthen individuals and families through accessible, community-based care. This role focuses on improving students' emotional well-being, behavioral functioning, and academic success by delivering counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with school staff and families.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect Clinical Services-Provide individual, group, and family therapy to students using evidence-based practices-Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans-Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards-Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as neededSchool Collaboration-Partner with teachers, school counselors, and administrators to support student success-Participate in student support meetings (e.g., RTI, IEP, 504 plans)-Deliver classroom presentations or workshops on mental health topics as neededFamily Engagement-Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress-Provide psychoeducation and connect families to community resources-Support family involvement in treatment planning and care coordinationCare Coordination & Community Integration-Collaborate with internal Family Service Center programs to ensure holistic care-Coordinate referrals to higher levels of care or additional services when appropriate-Advocate for students and families to reduce barriers to mental health servicesCompliance & Administrative Duties-Adhere to all ethical guidelines, confidentiality laws (HIPAA/FERPA), and agency policies-Meet productivity standards and service delivery expectations-Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional developmentQualificationsEducation & Licensure-Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field-Active license (LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT) or license-eligible (associate level accepted with supervision)-Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; stipends available for Spanish-speaking professionals to support our diverse communityCompensation & Benefits-Competitive Salary + Sign-On Bonus: Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus to support onboarding and transition into the role-Specialty Pay: Additional compensation opportunities for specialized clinical skills, certifications, or program assignments-Flexible Work Schedule: Scheduling options that support work-life balance, including flexible hours where program needs allow-Robust Benefits Package: Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plan options, and paid time off-Retirement Plan: 403(b) with employer contribution of up to 5% after one year of service (eligibility requirements apply)-Paid Holidays: Includes major holidays and an extended winter break-Continuing Education Support: Opportunities for professional development, including training and continuing education to maintain licensure and expand clinical expertiseWhy Join Family Service Center?
