For more information, visit OneCPM.com.The Purchasing Supervisor will work to source and procure material and manage the supply base for a thriving business. The role provides material planning and purchasing functions for an OEM of heavy industrial process machinery. Specifically, responsible for the sourcing of machined parts, fabricated components, motors, drive components, bearings, sensors, fasteners, seals, lubrication systems, etc. from outside and intercompany suppliers worldwide.THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITIONJob DescriptionThis is a working supervisor position that supports a thriving aftermarket business in the agriculture and biomass industries. This role provides leadership to the Harlan and Blenheim purchasing teams and coordinates with other plants to improve processes and drive efficiencies for CPM. This position will also work with the CPM Global Corporate Supply Chain team to develop new suppliers and best leverage our CPM worldwide production footprint.Up to 25% travel will be required to suppliers and other CPM facilities.Support operations in filling day to day needs for the organizationSource, select, and develop supply base and on-time delivery of the supplier baseDetermine domestic versus foreign sourcing (landed costs, exchange rates, etc.) strategy.Responsible for developing and maintaining cost estimates, forecasts, and cost modelsEnsure understanding of TCO (total cost of ownership) on all purchases to increase best cost position.Identify need for both low cost capacity of parts for projects and short lead time supply chains that enable aftermarket growthBuild cost models to aid in the forecasting and understanding of what parts and materials should costDefine strategy for Inventory planning and control (set safety stock levels, lot quantities, etc.).Design and optimize the MRP process for optimal inventory and service levels.Create department metrics to measure performance including purchase-price-varianceOrganize processes, procedures and working methods within the department, so that objectives and planning can be achieved.Manage supplier’s performance and hold them accountable to pricing and on-time deliveryWork with manufacturing and quality teams to qualify new suppliersAssist with the resolution of technical, quality, and receiving issues with suppliers and CPM resources.Communicate effectively with manufacturing and engineering to ensure product qualityClearly communicate to senior leaders (both internal and external), vendors and customersWork with cross functional teams to improve business processes including BOMs, drawing revisions, and related documentation to suppliersCoordinate the different businesses to manage supplier relationships as One CPMCreate and issue purchase ordersPerform other duties as required and assigned by Plant ManagerQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related field3+ plus years of progressive leadership roles within sourcing, supply chain, operations, or project managementDemonstrated experience in leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, creating value for end customers, and driving operational excellence within areas of responsibility.Strong financial acumen – the ability to utilize fundamental concepts of finance to manage budgets, forecast costs, and provide relevant information for data driven decision-making.Creative thinking ability: It is essential that you can demonstrate originality and imagination in thinking while developing a solution to a problemCommunication skills: They must be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and present technical information clearly and succinctly across a variety of communication settings and audienceCustomer service skills: It is essential that you are customer focused – you must think and act from customer perspectiveDetail-orientation: You must factor in every detail in proffering holistic solutionsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills: clarify and resolve complex business issues by breaking them down into meaningful components to determine root cause, and to redesign internal and external business processes where necessary.
