We are currently hiring Flooring Carpenters in Satellite Beach, FL for upcoming projects. Pay is $30 per hour based on experience and skillset. The Flooring Carpenter is responsible for replacing flooring & shelving for commercial setting. This role focuses on precision craftsmanship and preparing materials for installation.Flooring Carpenter Responsibilities:Demolition: Safely remove and dispose of old flooring, carpeting, nails, and staples.Subfloor Repair: Inspect the subfloor for damage, rot, or unevenness. Sand, patch, or replace wooden boards as necessary to ensure a solid foundation.Clearing & Cleaning: Sweep and vacuum the work area to ensure a completely clean, debris-free surface for adhesion or nailing.Cutting & Shaping: Use hand tools, power saws, and specialty cutters to accurately size materials for corners, doorways, and fixtures.Securing Materials: Install flooring using appropriate methods-nailing, stapling, or gluing. For interlocking floors (like laminate or vinyl planks), they snap and lock pieces together securely.Seam Finishing: Tap, glue, or heat-seam materials together to prevent curling, lifting, or frayed edges.Trim and Moldings: Measure and install transition strips, thresholds, baseboards, and quarter-round to cover expansion gaps and create a polished look.Surface Treatments: For raw wood or specialty flooring, sand the surface until smooth and apply stains, sealants, or varnishes for protection and aesthetic appeaAdhere to job-site safety rules, which often include operating personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean work environment to minimize hazards.Flooring Carpenter Qualifications:Must have flooring 5+ years of experience within flooring.Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials (often \(50\) to \(100\) pounds) regularly.Technical Math: Proficiency in measuring, calculating angles, and estimating geometric areas.Tool Proficiency: Mastery of power tools, tape measures, levels, and specialized flooring tools (e.g., floor nailers, trowels, miter saws)Benefits:Weekly payPaid time offReferral programMedical insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401(k)
