Job DetailsTitle: Small Parts Build TechnicianDepartment: PlainfieldReports to: Production Engineer ManagerWorking Hours: Monday through Thursday, 6AM to 4:30PM with a 30-minute lunch breakJob Summary/Objective of JobThe Small Parts Build Technician is responsible for the complete remanufacturing process of manual transmission oil pumps and related components within a single cell environment. This includes teardown, cleaning, inspection, rebuilding, and testing of oil pumps, as well as rebuilding additional small components. This position will also be trained to perform threaded hole repair, including light welding and reconditioning processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple steps of the remanufacturing process independently.Summary of Essential Job FunctionsDisassemble oil pumps and related components according to established proceduresClean components using appropriate equipment and cleaning processesInspect parts for wear, damage, and defects to determine reusabilityRebuild oil pumps and related components to meet company quality standardsPerform functional testing of rebuilt oil pumps to ensure proper operationRepair threaded holes and damaged threads using approved repair methods, including light welding (training provided)Rebuild additional small transmission components as assignedMaintain organized work area and proper handling of parts throughout the processAccurately record inspection results, repairs, and completed workFollow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policiesSupport production goals and maintain efficient workflow within the cellQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED Equivalent1-3 years' experience in mechanical assembly, rebuilding, manufacturing, or related field preferredMechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools, measuring tools, and shop equipmentWillingness to learn welding and threaded repair processes (training provided)Strong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to multi-task and remain focused in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPerformance MetricsQuality of rebuilt componentsProductivity and efficiencyAttention to detailProblem solvingCommunication skillsInterpersonal skillsTeamworkAdaptabilityPhysical DemandsLifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50+ lbsFrequently walking and/or kneelingSpeaking/hearingReaching/handling/climbingTravelNoneDisclaimer
