The RoleCity Cast is seeking a highly charismatic and curious local talent in Nashville to serve as the host of City Cast Nashville, its daily local media brand in Nashville. The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about Nashville news and culture, and loves talking to other locals about the quirks and contradictions of this quickly-changing city. The host will serve as a key voice and face of the local brand across all daily platforms including the podcast, video, and social accounts, and must be excited to explore different points of view about the issues shaping the city.Deadline to apply: June 8, 2026What You'll DoHost daily podcast conversations and social media videos that reflect what the city's talking about right now Work with the City Cast Nashville team to record and create social video content Contribute timely and creative topic ideas for the day's conversations across platforms Research and prep for each day's conversationsServe as a highly visible public ambassador and evangelist for the City Cast Nashville brand, representing City Cast at events, in media appearances, and beyond Perform ads for City Cast advertisers across platforms Contribute writing and editing to the daily newsletter as needed Play a key role in relationships with guests, partners, and contributorsCollaborate with the audience development manager on social media strategy Engage with the brand's audience, members, and fans RequirementsWhat You Bring A deep passion for all areas of Nashville, and an appreciation for and understanding of its complexityWorking knowledge of and interest in Metro and state government — the elected officials and administrators, their roles and responsibilities, and how past decisions are shaping the present and future of NashvilleA passion for building community with audience and fans The ability to host compelling and inclusive conversations about complex topics, sometimes with people you don't agree with The ability to break down complex topics into clear, relatable languageThe ability to lead and manage a multi-person conversation, keeping it moving forwardComfort on mic and on cameraCharisma, an excellent sense of humor, composure, and relatability on mic Experience working in a deadline-driven editorial environmentBenefitsThe Host will report to the Executive Producer of City Cast Nashville. This position is full-time, with excellent benefits. The annual salary range is $80,000 - $94,000. You must be local, though work will be primarily remote.
