Senior Statistician (Philadelphia)

The Senior Statistician leads and delivers analytical expertise across a broad range of advanced survey research and statistical methods to answer research questions related to the analysis of physician assessment, workforce, and survey data. Advise/mentor staff on advanced statistical methods related to statistics and survey research.Reporting to the Director, Research & Data Intelligence, the Senior Statistician has the following primary responsibilities:Generates research project ideas that support the organization's overall research and operational strategy.Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on methodological issues related to survey, workforce, and assessment data. Advises and mentors staff on advanced statistical methods, survey research methodologies.Provides expertise in complex survey design and analysis, including stratification, clustering, weighting, and variance estimation, and conducts advanced statistical analyses requiring complex analytic design and programming.Author technical reports and background/discussion papers related to assigned projects.Author and publish manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.Presents scholarly research at professional meetings. Communicate research results to internal leadership, board/council, and to the research community.Leads research projects with external research collaborators from academic institutions, othermedical boards, and other assessment organizations.The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated expertise in survey methodology, including questionnaire design, sampling methods, weighting, nonresponse adjustment, variance estimation, and the analysis of complex survey data, along with a strong background in research design, statistical modeling, and advanced analytical methods. They will be highly proficient in statistical software packages such as SAS, Stata, and R, with experience using SQL database language to support complex research and analytical initiatives. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage deadlines, and contribute effectively across teams. Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential. Candidates will ideally have a minimum of five years of relevant experience conducting advanced statistical and survey research analyses across multifaceted research projects, and a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in economics, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related field is highly desirable.This role is based in our offices at 510 Walnut Street, Philadelphia PA, with the ability to work remotely three days a week.
