Job Summary
Reporting to the Regulatory and Quality Reporting Manager. The analyst's primary responsibilities include: data collection, metric validation, performance and health outcome measurement, benchmarking, stratification, and visual presentation of analytic results. Collaborate with key clinical, business and IT partners to identify analyses and reports needed to inform executive leadership's strategic regulatory decisions and initiatives for the organization.Collaborate with clinical and IT leadership in the organization for performance improvement initiatives spanning the following domains: Primary Care, Specialty Care, Inpatient Care Transitions, and Resource Utilization Efficiency. The Analyst demonstrates knowledge of evidence based clinical processes of care related to: timely preventive services for adults and children, chronic disease management, and reduction of preventable inpatient and ED visits. The Analyst will play a key role in ensuring that accurate and actionable data is reported to both internal and external stakeholders. Through analysis and collaboration with analytic and clinical teams, the Analyst will help to demonstrate UCSF's ability to improve population health clinical outcomes and healthcare utilization with regulatory submissions across multiple federal and government programs.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. Department Description
The Meaningful Use/MIPS now Regulatory and Quality Reporting Team manages reporting needs for UCSF Health, Affiliates, and Community partners related to Meaningful Use/Promoting Interoperability, Quality Payment Program under the MACRA legislation, as well as other government programs. The team works extensively with clinical systems, quality, ambulatory, and physician leadership to accurately configure the system and improve performance across measures.The analyst is part of a multi-disciplinary group of analysts and programmers who support UCSF and will configure, build, produce and maintain regulatory Epic reports and analytics. Key operational activities include primary responsibility to analyze work flows and understand policies, procedures and constraints of the clinical or business operations related to reporting requirements. In depth and precise investigation and documentation of operational & report specifications is required. Key technical activities include the analysis of new releases to determine how reporting should be modified, building and populating databases and tables during initial system configuration, conducting report testing and data validation. We also develop and documents internal procedures and establishes change control processes for new development, modification and retirement of reports. Our modules/products include evaluations of objectives, quality, cost, and utilization using data from the electronic health record, care everywhere, healthy planet, caboodle, claims, and external vendors.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related areas and / or equivalent experience / trainingEpic Clarity Data Model and/or Epic Radar and/or Epic Reporting Workbench with 3-5 years application reporting experienceIn-depth knowledge of business intelligence functions, advanced analytics, industry standards and best practicesAdvanced knowledge and skill in internal databases, BI applications, tools, and systemsAdvanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage highly complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutionsAdvanced organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on scheduleAdvanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complexinformation in a clear, concise manner. Ability to produce and deliver presentations to diverse audiencesAdvanced interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with managers, professional and technical staffAbility to apply advanced problem-resolution skills to highly complex issues, quickly diagnoseproblems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely mannerKnowledge of clinical standard terminology, clinical workflows, user interface optimization, clinical decision support, rules development, data integration and mining, clinical ontologies, adoption of technologyIn-depth knowledge of all relevant clinical informatics software and systems, and of the highly- complex concepts, principles, policies, methodologies, techniques, best practices, regulations, and standards practices involved with patient care and electronic medical data management in the UC health care systemAdvanced expertise in Epic clinical and administrative workflows
