Project Engineer (Utah)

As a Project Engineer , you will play a key role in the successful delivery of multiple construction projects from preconstruction through close‑out. Working closely with a Project Manager and field teams, you’ll gain hands‑on exposure to all phases of construction while building the technical, financial, and leadership skills needed to advance into a Project Manager role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE: Support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing multiple construction projects from preconstruction through close‑out Ensure project start‑up procedures are completed accurately and on time Create and manage subcontract agreements and purchase orders based on project scope, estimates, and requirements Maintain project schedules in MS Project for internal and external use Track and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reporting Prepare and manage change order requests (internal and external) and maintain accurate logs Report weekly Financial & Time Exposure Forecasts to the Project Manager and Owner Assist with monthly billing by coordinating subcontractor billings, coding costs, and verifying payment applications and invoices Ensure proper accounting practices are followed for projects, subcontracts, and purchase orders Review, distribute, track, and log material submittals; coordinate approvals and ensure timely procurement Create, distribute, track, and manage RFIs to maintain schedule and document integrity Ensure Superintendents are accurately documenting daily logs and site photos Track and manage project testing, inspections, and related documentation Maintain and distribute current drawings and specifications to all project stakeholders Prepare agendas, attend meetings, and record and distribute meeting minutes Manage project files including safety, inspections, testing, and reporting documentation Assist in monitoring and enforcing project safety plans Support project close‑out activities, including punch lists and operation & maintenance manuals KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE NEEDED: To be successful in this role, you will be organized, analytical, and proactive. REQUIRED / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required Bachelor’s degree (or current coursework) in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred General knowledge of construction practices and project workflows Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents Attention to detail Excellent organizational and time‑management skills Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, spreadsheets, word processing, scheduling software, and construction‑related technology ABOUT US We are a growing construction company built on strong relationships, attention to detail, and a commitment to developing our people.
