Structural Analyst / Senior Structural Analyst

Support Cardinal Engineering’s structural analysis and computational mechanics initiatives on a variety of Department of Defense and maritime projects. Key focus areas include the assessment and life-cycle support of Navy ship structures and underwater vehicles. Work within a multidisciplinary team to translate complex requirements into high-fidelity structural models, ensuring survivability and performance in demanding marine environments. The position expectations will include:Perform high-fidelity Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for static, dynamic, and transient loading conditions using FEMAP/NASTRAN.Develop and implement automation tools and custom scripts via the FEMAP API to streamline modeling workflows and post-processing.Generate comprehensive technical products, including structural analysis packages, substantiation reports, and drawing sets for various applications.Conduct structural optimization and trade studies to balance weight, cost, and manufacturability while meeting rigorous standards.Document analytical methodologies and results in formal technical memorandums, calculation packages, and summary reports.Interface directly with Navy technical authorities and program offices to present findings and support design reviews.Collaborate with design and test teams to correlate analytical models with experimental data from laboratory or sea trials.Support the development of internal analysis standards and best practices for the Structural Engineering Group.Occasional travel will be required to visit shipyards, subcontractor sites, or government facilities (
