Job Description OverviewWe are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Low-Voltage Technician / Field Engineer for a one-time, 3-hour site survey. The purpose of this survey is to assess and document requirements for a commercial security upgrade, including access control, IP cameras, and necessary cabling infrastructure.This is a flat-fee contract gig with immediate payout upon delivery of the survey reports, plus first-bid priority for the subsequent installation project.Project DetailsDuration: 3–4 hours maximum (on-site)Compensation: $250 flat feeLocation: 14255 Dequindre St., Detroit , MI 48212Future Opportunity: If the client moves forward with the project, the surveying technician will be given first bid priority for the full installation contract.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct a comprehensive walk-through of the facility to assess current infrastructure.Identify optimal mounting locations for security cameras and access control hardware.Map out cabling pathways, noting lengths, containment needs, and potential penetration points (walls/ceilings).Document existing network closets/IDF racks and available power sources.Take clear, well-labeled photographs of all relevant areas (doors, pathways, mounting surfaces, IT closets).Provide a concise summary/sketch of findings to assist with the final installation scope of work.Qualifications & RequirementsExperience: Extensive hands-on experience with low-voltage wiring, commercial IP camera systems, and access control systems.Software Plus: Prior experience with Lumana platforms is a major plus, though not strictly required.Tools: Must bring your own basic tools for a survey (measuring tape/laser measure, notepad/tablet, and a smartphone with a high-quality camera for documentation).Professionalism: Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor while interacting with on-site staff.Reliability: Ability to show up on time and deliver organized survey data promptly.How to ApplyIf you are a skilled low-voltage pro looking for a quick, straightforward gig with the potential for a larger installation contract, please reply with:A brief summary of your low-voltage/security system experience.Your availability over the next [insert timeframe, e.g., week / 48 hours].Confirmation of your experience with access control and IP cameras (mention Lumana if applicable).Company DescriptionBluebird is a rapidly growing nationwide leader specializing in physical security and networking infrastructure installation services.
