Requisition #: 10450030325CXShift: Day ShiftLocation: Erlanger, KYJob DescriptionThis position is responsible for assisting in process setup, prove-out and maintaining programs for various CNC equipment, including but not limited to CNC mills, 7-axis grinders, 3, 4, and 5-axis grinders, lathes, and wire EDM machines.Job FunctionAssisting the CNC Programming Manager in establishing, maintaining, and improving the CNC programs and manufacturing processes through the development, writing, and implementation of programming-related procedures and work instructions, assuring their effectiveness. Utilize various continuous improvement initiatives and support inspection/product assessment activities.Primary ResponsibilitiesProve out, modify, and maintain machine processes for multiple types of CNC machinesAssist with programming needs for multiple departments and all satellite facilitiesAssist operators with machine setup, process prove-out, and troubleshooting as neededMaintain program availability using DNC and network resourcesAssist in projects both inside and outside of the CNC programming departmentWork closely and coordinate with Engineering, Quality Engineering and Production SupervisorsSupport and troubleshoot machining processes in Cincinnati and Kentucky facilitiesConduct at-machine and classroom operator training and skills development as needed for grinding and milling machinesPerform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and requiredRequirementsMinimum of 10 plus years' experience in CNC machiningMinimum of 5 plus years' experience in NX CAM CNC ProgrammingMust be able to read G Code and Macro Variable programsStrong understanding of machining fundamentals and practicesPrevious experience leading or assisting in production and/or quality projectsProficient at machine setup proceduresWillingness to work hands-on with production associates on the production floor, including setup, programming, processing and troubleshootingAbility to process and communicate information using Microsoft Office software toolsAbility to lead teams or projects, achieving desired results on scheduleMust be able to comprehend and communicate information to others both verbally and in writing in EnglishAbility to convey technical concepts to both technical and management teams in a concise mannerMust be able to travel to attend job-specific training and seminarsMust have the ability and desire to work overtime, including weekendsAbility to multi-taskHigh School Diploma or Equivalent—documentation requiredMust meet ITAR definition of US Person—documentation requiredMTI is a safety sensitive manufacturer. Successful pre-employment drug testing will be required.Preferable Experience2 year or 4 year degree in CNC Machining/ProgrammingProgramming and process layouts for Makino G7 GrindersSegment/Ring and PR/DJ grinding exposureNX Post Processor developmentMust be able to read G Code, DJ Variable, MF Variable, 3-axis Variable and 5-axis Variable programsFamiliarity with the IRIS programming methodPhysical Demands/Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, move throughout the facility, use hands, reach with hands, and arms, and communicate. Work in office environment and use of computer (typical 2-button, scroll mouse and keyboard – 75% of the work day). The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
