Lead Mainframe Systems Programmer – z/OS Infrastructure
*Job Summary*
- We are seeking experienced Lead Mainframe Systems Programmers with strong expertise in IBM z/OS operating system infrastructure, software installation, system upgrades, maintenance, and production support.
- The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience maintaining enterprise z/OS environments, including IBM and third-party ISV products, and supporting modern mainframe infrastructure technologies.
*Key Responsibilities*
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM z/OS operating systems and infrastructure components.
- Perform software installation and maintenance using SMP/E, including PTFs and APARs.
- Install, upgrade, configure, and support IBM and third-party ISV products.
- Support z/OS UNIX System Services (USS), z/OSMF, and Zowe environments.
- Administer and troubleshoot DFSMS and DFHSM storage management components.
- Develop and maintain JCL and REXX scripts for infrastructure administration and automation.
- Troubleshoot z/OS system-level incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Support system upgrades, maintenance windows, disaster recovery testing, and production stability.
- Collaborate with operations, application, storage, and infrastructure teams.
*Required Qualifications*
- Extensive hands-on experience in z/OS / Mainframe Systems Programming.
- Strong experience with z/OS installation, upgrades, configuration, and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience using SMP/E to install and maintain IBM and ISV software products.
- Working knowledge of USS, JCL, REXX, and z/OS infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting enterprise production mainframe environments.
*Preferred Qualifications*
- Hands-on experience with z/OSMF and Zowe.
- Experience with DFSMS, DFHSM, and mainframe storage management.
- Experience with z/OS version migrations, system automation, and disaster recovery.
Experience:
- z/OS / Mainframe Systems Programming: 8 years (Required)
- SMP/E, PTF, and APAR maintenance: 6 years (Required)
- z/OS UNIX System Services (USS): 6 years (Required)
