Conti's Renewables Group executes utility‐scale solar and battery energy storage projects through a combination of EPC delivery and self‐performed electrical construction , giving Conti full control over safety, quality, schedule, and cost.This role is a critical part of Conti's estimating and preconstruction leadership for renewable energy construction.Position SummaryThe Senior Electrical Estimator – Solar & Battery Storage (Self‐Perform) is responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for self‐performed electrical scopes on utility‐scale solar and BESS projects. This individual will focus on electrical labor, materials, equipment, and execution strategy while collaborating closely with EPC estimating, project management, and field operations.The ideal candidate has deep hands‐on knowledge of utility‐scale electrical construction , understands how estimates translate to field productivity, and can support projects from pursuit through execution.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Estimating (Self‐Perform Focus)Develop detailed estimates for self‐performed electrical scopes, including: DC collection systemsAC systems and utility interconnectionInverters, transformers, MV/LV distributionBattery Energy Storage System (BESS) electrical scopeTrenching, conduit, grounding, and terminationsPerform labor productivity analysis based on execution methodology and site conditionsQuantify materials, equipment, and manpower requirements for utility‐scale projectsEvaluate project plans, specifications, and one‐lines for constructability and cost impactPreconstruction & Bid SupportSupport bids and proposals for utility‐scale solar and BESS projectsCoordinate with EPC estimators to align self‐perform scope with overall project pricingIdentify risk items, execution constraints, and value‐engineering opportunitiesParticipate in estimate reviews, strategy sessions, and project handoffsCollaboration & Field AlignmentPartner closely with: Chief Estimator and EPC Estimating TeamProject Managers and SuperintendentsProcurement and Operations leadershipEnsure estimating assumptions align with real‐world field executionSupport awarded projects through budget validation and job startupProcess & Continuous ImprovementSupport development and refinement of self‐perform estimating standardsContribute to historical cost databases and labor productivity benchmarksTrack market trends affecting labor, materials, and electrical construction costsRequired Qualifications5+ years of experience estimating self‐performed electrical constructionStrong background in utility‐scale solar and/or battery energy storage (BESS) projectsDeep understanding of electrical construction means, methods, and sequencingAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and one‐linesExperience estimating large‐scale electrical scopes tied to renewable energy projectsProficiency with Excel and electrical estimating tools/softwareStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience on utility‐scale solar projects 30MW-500MWdc RangePrior field experience (foreman, superintendent, or project engineer)Familiarity with integrating self‐perform electrical scope into EPC deliveriesExperience working with union electrical labor environmentsLocation & RelocationPosition may be based in Irvine, CA , Las Vegas, NV , or remoteStrong preference for remote candidates to relocate to Irvine or Las Vegas after 12 months if currently remoteRelocation allowance will be provided by ContiCompensation & Growth OpportunityOpportunity to grow into leadership roles within Conti's Renewables GroupExposure to large‐scale, high‐profile renewable energy projectsWhy Join ContiDirect involvement in large‐scale renewable energy constructionStrong self‐perform electrical platform with executive supportClear connection between estimating, execution, and project successLong‐term growth opportunities within Conti's expanding Solar Division
