Material Handler/Forklift OperatorSupporting the manufacturing departments by operating a sit-down and/or stand-up forklift truck to stack or move product or materials.First Shift: 4:00am to 12:00pmEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Follow all Forklift Safety Practices while operating liftRead work orders to determine appropriate material requiredUse forklift to deliver material. Return and log unused material to storageStore and log completed material on racks in stock area after it is manufacturedScan all rolls for movement from location to locationPerform inventory transactions on computer systemPerform safety/maintenance checks of forklift prior to first use each shiftVerify that material is not damaged prior to transporting it to and from storage areasReport damage to supervisorMaintain an orderly, neat and safe work areaRemoval of waste from production areasPerforms any other activity as required by ManagementCompetencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Certified to operate sit-down and/or stand-up forkliftsManages time efficientlyAbility to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected eventsAbility to use hand tools such as hammer, tin snips, crowbar, and utility knife safelyPhysical demands include regularly required to stand and/or walkMust occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsEducation and/or Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Prior forklift driving certification required and ability to recertify upon hireDisclaimers:The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
