Academic Physician - MD/DO - Breast Surgeon

About the Opportunity SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital-St. Louis seeks a dedicated Breast Surgeon to join our thriving breast care program. This is a unique opportunity to assume leadership of an established and growing practice following the retirement of our highly respected breast surgeon, who has been in practice for over 15 years. You'll step into a well-supported environment and established clinic with experienced, breast-trained staff and serve as part of the second busiest breast program in the St. Louis region. This is an academic position with an appointment with Saint Louis University School of Medicine and the SSM SLUCare Physician Group. Practice Overview Clinical Volume & Setting 90% outpatient / 10% inpatient Over 120 breast tumor cases annually (2024 data) 30% of patients receive integrated medical oncology and/or radiation oncology through SSM Health Practice Infrastructure Turnkey clinic on campus and supported by an experienced breast surgery nurse practitioner. Dedicated outpatient clinic with 3 exam rooms Private office space Experienced, breast-trained support staff Established referral network and growing patient volume Position Responsibilities Clinical Care Provide comprehensive breast surgical services at SSM Health St. Mary's campus Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered breast cancer care Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and coordination Academic & Educational Engagement This is an academic position with the Saint Louis University School of Medicine and the SSM SLUCare Physician Group. With the faculty appointment, the candidate is expected to support the educational and clinical mission of the institution.
